My Son

We took a morning trip today to My Son, an ancient Cham site.

Dug up by the French from 1899 and damaged in the late 1960s by war. Set in very beautiful surroundings.

Our tour started with a bit of a Cham dancing demo. Three parts, of which part one was good but part three slightly uncomfortable as the women doing the dancing seemed not 100% happy with their outfits. Though that could have been out imaginations.

Anyway, the remaining buildings are interesting. Interesting trying to imagine them as they would have been used.

Most of the photos are on our SLR, so here’s a placeholder. More to follow when we are home.

Mekong Delta

Short flight from Singapore this afternoon and a couple of hours in a car from the hotel took us to The Island Lodge on Unicorn Island.

Lots and lots of scooters but it all seems to work.

Final leg of the trip on an electric cart-thing.

We are here for a few nights to chill and start to get over the jet lag.
